Flower farming is not for the faint of heart - our growers are seasoned professionals who rely on the Midwest weather and their own grit to grow the stunning blooms available at Chicago Flower Market. They are experts in Floriculture including starting seeds, planning their fields, harvest timing, and post-harvest care.

At Hickory Hills Flower Farm, we specialize in cut flowers for florists who want a trusted local source of consistently high-quality flowers. In our 7th year, we know what florists require from their floral products, and we aim to deliver at the highest standards.

Iron Meadows Flower Farm
Jessica | Buckley, IL
Jessica grew up planting blooms with her mom every year - especially Zinnias! While travel nursing in Alaska, local peony farms inspired her to Google "flower farming" and soon Iron Meadows Flower Farm was born. Now a full-time farmer & florist, Jessica strives to respect her land & community by using socially responsible growing practices. Jessica's farm is located in Central Illinois, 2 hours south of Chicago. Iron Meadows Flower Farm offers flowers from May-October. She hosts an annual plant sale, dried flower creation sale and offers wedding design.

Green Trail Farms

The Roof Crop

The Roof Crop is a design-focused, urban agriculture initiative that promotes sustainability, ecology, and community engagement. TRC was conceived as a project to market farmable green roof systems in 2013 and has since grown into a green roof growing media, landscape, and urban farm company with deep ties to their growing communities. TRC grows flowers, produce, grains, and natural dyes in any farmable growing media on roofs and on-grade. Their greatest sources of inspiration come from developing thoughtful products that are good for people and the environment.

Fence Post Florals
Kayla | Pontiac, IL
For many years, Kayla loved growing flowers and sharing bouquets with loved ones. Once she learned growing and selling flowers on a small scale could be a career, she seized an opportunity to convert ordinary farm ground into rows of beauty! Fence Post Florals was born. Kayla, along with her family (especially her teenage girls!), now grow a large variety of perennial and annual flowers for Chicago florists. Their farm is in its 6th year of production.

Fernabelle Acres

Our mission is to provide a reliable wholesale source for local florists. We know that sourcing locally grown flowers can be a challenge, especially when it comes to quantity and logistics, particularly in this part of the world. We're building a farm that prioritizes quality and sustainability—for the planet and for the people who grow and work with these beautiful blooms.

Green Garden Mama
Carrie | Lombard, IL
A former graphic designer, Carrie started her farm in 2021 as a to make something both beautiful and sustainable. Carrie and her team currently mainly grow annuals with a heavy emphasis on dahlias, and are expanding their perennial and native selections. Carrie's farm prioritizes organic practices, strives to reduce plastic use, and create symbiotic relationships in their garden ecosystems.

Abundant Blooms
Ruth Ann | Dorr, MI
Ruth Ann founded Abundant Blooms Flower Farm in 2020 after leaving the Air Force, where she served as a nurse. From her farm in West Michigan, she grows premium flowers exclusively for florists, specializing in perennials and woody shrubs selected for their beauty, longevity, and design potential. Rooted in the belief that abundance can be cultivated slowly and intentionally, Ruth Ann farms alongside her five children, teaching as she grows. Supplying high-quality, thoughtfully grown flowers to florists in her region and beyond is at the heart of her work.

Fieldsview Farm

Fieldsview Farm was born of a love for flowers and a desire to bring those flowers to the Southwest Michigan community without the heavy environmental impact of imported flowers. All their blooms are grown using sustainable farming practices. Derek & Amy grew up in the South Haven area and appreciate the natural beauty of the area. They live on their farm with their daughter, two dogs, rabbits, many chickens, and their farm assistant cats, Stripe, Snowball, and Ginger.

Sister Sprig Farm

Sister Sprig Farm & Floral is an urban farm on the Southside of Chicago, owned and operated by AJ & Katie! They grow a variety of classic blooms, aromatic herbs, as well as specialty crops. Founded by friends, with the dream to build a sustainable business that supports the community, the farm is a practice in growth both from the ground and personal.

LifeBlooms
Lois | Barrien Springs, MI
For Lois, the garden has always been a place of peace, perseverance and nurture. Her patients call her “Doctor Gardener”. After studying the benefits of gardening on mind & body, she decided to combine her passion for growing flowers with her pediatric practice. LifeBlooms was born - a space for healing of soil, souls and stories. Here children experience the restorative powers of engaging the soil and helping living things flourish. LifeBlooms grows over 100 varieties of dahlias and numerous annual flowers.

Flowerfield Farmstead

Flowerfield Farmstead is a small, family-run flower farm owned by Nick and Cassie Shimp, entering our 9th season of growing high-quality cut flowers in southwest Michigan. We grow on one acre using sustainable, naturally grown practices, without harsh chemicals or synthetic fertilizers, focusing on strong stems, reliable varieties, and excellent vase life for designers. Located just north of Schoolcraft in Flowerfield, MI, we sell gorgeous blooms at our local farmers markets, our on-farm stand, and weekly subscriptions.

Green Willow Gardens

Rising Kites Flowers

Sweet Pea's Stems

Sweet Pea’s Stems grows on a a fully MOSA certified organic farm using only regenerative practices. Our top focus is on respecting the environment and leaving it better than we found it. Our land is protected Native American Land and is fully protected from land developers by The Conservation Foundation so it can be used solely to carry on conservation, agriculture, and nature education. It’s truly a magical place.

Village Flowers

Village Flowers is a dahlia farm in La Porte, IN. What started as a love of flowers while helping out with market bouquets on my friend Becki's flower farm led to a brief stint as a floral designer, and then a handful of dahlia tubers. If you love dahlias, you can't stop at just a handful! We currently grow around 65 varieties on just under an acre, and add a few new varieties each season.

Green Petals Flower Farm

Laura started growing flowers in 2022 after moving from Chicago to rural Western Pennsylvania. Isolated from friends and family, she turned to the soil for connection. A chance encounter with local blooms at a town coffee shop changed everything. What began as a volunteer impulse blossomed into a role as a farmhand, where she gained the expertise to open her own micro flower farm upon returning to Chicago. Green Petals Flower Farm strives to use organic and sustainable gardening practices to bring seasonal beauty back to West Town.

They keep it healthy & ecological: No herbicides, pesticides, or synthetic fertilizers. Scott & team grow flowers you want to handle & your customers will want to stick their nose into and breathe deeply. Compost, beneficial insects, natural amendments are key! And oooo so much weeding :).

Smits Farms

Smits Farms is a family-owned and operated business that was started in 1990 by Carl and Deb Smits, first generation farmers. It was started with specializing in herb production and bedding plants and began expanding with more cut flowers in 2024 with Kayla and Matthew (now the 2nd generation farmers) adding them to their wholesale offerings. We strive to bring high quality flower while growing sustainably.

Tendrils Flower Farm

Gabe grew up farming cherries and has a natural green thumb, while Dani has always loved flowers and the beauty they bring. When those interests came together, Tendrils was born. Today, we grow seasonal blooms alongside our daughter and dog, embracing the beauty, chaos, and joy that come with flower farming. We’re proud to share locally grown blooms that support small businesses, strengthen our community, and keep flowers close to home.

We currently plant 15 acres of flowers and 15 acres of vegetables. Thousand Sunny Farm
